FAQs

Can I wear my Band 24/7?Testing has been done by runners who wore their bands 24/7 without any issues arising. Whilst we would still not recommend this, you can certainly wear the wristbands for a long time without a problem.
What information is on the band?Your name, primary ICE and primary medical condition (if any) are engraved on your band together with your unique QR code.
How do I download the app?Once you have purchased your band, you will be sent a confirmation email containing a link to download the Sports Guardian App from the App Store.
How do I connect my band to the app? When you receive your band, you need to register it in the Sports Guardian APP. Open the app and press the “ADD BAND” button on the home screen. The app will ask you to scan the QR code on your band and will then register your band in the app. You can now complete and update your safety medical record and ICE contacts.
How do I change or update my information in the app?You can use the app to view and edit your safety medical information (medical conditions, allergies, medications, medical history and additional notes) so that you can keep your information up to date. You can also manage your ICE contacts, view your attendance record and prevailing key venue data (e.g. water temperature) at participating venues.
How do I unlock and lock the QR code?Using the app, you can lock and unlock the QR code on the band for your own safety when undertaking any sporting activity, whether alone or in a group. Your QR code is automatically unlocked when you check into any participating club, venue or event and locked when you check out. You can also disable the QR code on the band or permanently disable the band if it is lost or stolen.
What happens if I don't download the app / complete the information? If you don’t download the app or complete the detailed personal information, this will be flagged the first time you try to check in at a participating club, venue or event. You will not be able to use your band to check in at a venue until you have filled in your detailed information.
How long does dispatch and delivery take?We dispatch the majority of orders by Royal Mail 2nd Class the same or next working day, although at peak times and at the start of a working week, it might take a couple of days for your order to ship. Once we ship your order, it can take up to 10 working days for UK delivery.
Are the bands plastic? No, the bands are all made from silicone. This is the same material as standard "charity" bands are made from.
Do the wristbands contain latex? Our bands are made from pure silicone with a special spray oil for the outer coating giving a soft, smooth touch. They do not contain any latex.
Who can see the information on the band?To protect your privacy, the QR code will only be scannable while you are checked in at a participating club, venue or event and will remain locked at all other times, unless you choose to unlock it (for example if you are swimming, cycling or running alone). While checked in at a club, venue or event or when the QR code has been unlocked by you, anyone with a smartphone will be able to scan the QR code and access your ICE and medical information, saving valuable time in an emergency. As a failsafe against technical issues, the most important medical information and ICE are also printed on the band. It is your responsibility to ensure that you lock the QR code on the band by checking out of a club, venue or event or locking it through the app after use.
