It all starts with the bands

How do the bands work?

Each band is engraved with a personal QR code, the member’s name, ICE  (emergency contact) number and a primary medical condition or “No Medical Condition”. When unlocked, the QR code allows staff, paramedics and others to access more detailed personal information including medical conditions and history, medications and ICE contacts. The bands work anywhere in the world (subject to wifi/phone network availability). Bands can be used at any partner or affiliate club, venue or event. Members can also unlock the QR code on their band for their own safety and peace of mind when undertaking any solo or group activity.

Who can see the information on the band?

To protect privacy, the QR code is only scannable while a member is checked in at any participating club, venue or event and will remain locked at all other times unless the member chooses to unlock it (for example if they are swimming, cycling or running alone). While checked in at a club, venue or event or when the QR code has been unlocked by the member, anyone with a smartphone will be able to scan the QR code and access the ICE and medical information, saving valuable time in an emergency. As a failsafe against technical issues, the most important medical information and ICE are also printed on the band.

How does the club, venue and event app work?

When you register with Sports Guardian, our team will set up the club, venue or event zones (e.g. Reception, Swimming area 1, Clubhouse) and staff logins to the venue app. The bronze level of the app is free. Silver and gold subscription levels offer free guest bands and additional functionality.

We offer a best-in-class safety solution for your members, with the added benefit of a secure safety and medical alert ID for personal use by them.

To truly protect your members, it should be compulsory for them to wear the wristbands during any activity at your club, venue or event, though this is entirely your choice.

All Sports Guardian own brand, affiliate and partner bands can be used at any Sports Guardian affiliate or partner club, venue or event and for personal use. All types of bands work the same way for your members.

You have complete flexibility on how you price affiliate or partner bands for your members. Depending on your fee structure, you may want to offer a free band to new members or you may want to offer a launch discount or subsidise specific classes of members. Simply tell us what you'd like to do.

Choose your annual subscription level

Choose the annual subscription level that suits you. We recognise that occasional visitors may not want to invest in a wristband, so we offer venues and events the opportunity to purchase guest bands at a discounted price. These bands are registered to the club, venue or event rather than to individual users.

Our silver and gold subscription levels offer free guest bands on sign up and additional functionality and reporting.

We’re busy testing our new silver and gold subscription levels which will be available in Q4 2024. These will offer free guest bands annually together with additional functionality and reporting and we’ll let you know as soon as they launch. In the meantime, you can sign up with our bronze subscription level and best of all, it’s free!

Our new admin portal allows you to download attendance statistics, guest information and incident logs as well as manage your staff login IDs, activities/zones and select your session specific data fields. Venues and organisations on our silver and gold subscription levels can also create bespoke reports, including milestone reports.
